Fall Food &toiletry Drive
(For Grisham MS)
Hi! We’re Girl Scout troop 1164 from Central Texas. Recently, we did a food and toiletries drive for the needy kids of Grisham. Girls in our troop were assigned streets (by Mrs. Cowman) to pass out bags at each doorstep with a piece of paper stapled to it, stating what to do with the bag, and what objects are needed for the kids at Grisham. Each house that the Girl Scout went to, got a sack to put items needed for the drive. Some examples are: canned foods, peanut butter crackers, shampoo, and soap. A week later, on October 25 or 24, the Girl Scout assigned to the street would come back and pick up the filled bags. Overall, this project was a success. We got about 20 bags- all bulging with items. One thing we have to say is, we thank the Girl Scout parents. Our troop, and I cannot stress this enough, is very very very fortunate to have such dedicated and involved adults to help guide us along. We could not have done this without them!
